Frequently Asked Questions

Renovations can be daunting. To make this process easier, we have compiled seven of the most commonly asked renovation questions.

+ How long will it take?

  • Generally, a project can take upwards of 2 months from start to finish.
  • This includes the time it takes to meet and measure your space, order cabinetry (approx. 6 weeks), and wait for all other materials you require to arrive (countertops, appliances, flooring, etc.).
  • To minimize disruption in your home, Laird Kitchen and Bath prefers to begin renovations once your cabinetry has arrived.
  • Don’t forget to check out our services page for a full breakdown of the steps involved in your kitchen or bathroom renovation.

+ How much does it cost?

  • At Laird Kitchen and Bath, we want to create your dream kitchen or bathroom with your budget in mind.
  • Consider what you like about your existing kitchen or bathroom and what you would like to see in your new space (check out our Pinterest for kitchen and bathroom inspiration).
  • Once you have a better idea of the changes you would like to make we can discuss what can be done within your budget.

+ What happens if the project takes longer or it costs more money?

  • At Laird Kitchen and Bath, we keep communication open throughout the project.
  • We will never surprise you with a big additional bill at the end of the project, nor will we make any changes without first fully communicating with you.
  • If additional costs arise or more time is needed for construction we will discuss it immediately.

+ Can you help us design our kitchen or bathroom?

  • Yes! We have over 40 years of combined experience designing and building kitchens and bathrooms. We will gladly help you design your space. We can also work with the materials you have selected.

+ Do I need a permit? Do we need to use licensed technicians?

  • Permits are there for a reason; they protect the homeowner. Contractors who don’t ask for permits, or don’t use licensed technicians, are contractors you don’t want to work with.

+ Is there a warranty on your work?

  • Yes! We warranty our labour for one full year.
  • Materials will be subject to manufacturer’s warranty.
